Product Highlights
Meet Frey Frey.
A bright, energetic, and vivacious little Cabernet Shiraz created to celebrate someone truly incredible: Freya Maclay.
Freya was born with an incredibly rare genetic condition known as Tay-Sachs. Thought to affect only 1 in 360,000 children, it is a devastating condition that impacts the nervous system and the brain and currently has no known cure.
Despite the challenges, Freya is a fighter. And so, too, are her incredibly supportive parents, family, and close-knit group of friends. Together, with the generosity of Auld Family Wines in the Barossa, they’ve created the 2019 Frey Frey Cabernet Shiraz to help raise money and bring awareness to charities that support families like the Maclays, who are faced with the unimaginable news of knowing there is no cure.
“Freya and her condition have given us a unique way to see life and, of course, be thankful for her. This opportunity to make Frey Frey wine is a chance to honour our daughter, who has given us so much even in her short time on earth. It is only fitting we toast her with a delicious Auld Family Wines Barossa Cabernet Shiraz.”
“We hope to raise enough money to fund research and development to ensure that children and their families do not endure the devastating outcome that we, as a family, face right now.”
Here at The Wine Collective, we were touched by the story of Freya and her family, and we proudly offer this magnificent red to help bring hope to everyone affected by these devastating diseases. The Barossa is home to some of Australia’s most cherished vineyards, and this red wine stands proudly among the very best. It’s filled with lashings of blueberry, mulberry, red currants, mocha, vanilla essence, and hints of fine French oak. It’s a juicy little number with a touch of spice and a hint of cheekiness that will quickly bring a smile to your face and to those you share it with.
If this isn’t a 100-point wine, then we don’t know what is.
The Wine Collective will donate all ongoing profits from every Frey Frey Cabernet Shiraz bottle sold to the Rare Find Foundation & CATS (Cure & Action for Tay-Sachs Foundation) alongside a generous additional donation.
