Tasting Notes

Generous foam on serving. The fine effervescent bubbles form a slender and persistent bead. Golden yellow appearance with beautiful glints. The nose is elegant and refined with notes of fresh fruit (currant, peach, apricot) and citrus (grapefruit, orange). Complexity is provided by spices and a hint of dried flowers. The palate is refreshing and generous. The finish is lively and elegant, which suggests restrained dosage to avoid disturbing the wine’s natural balance.

Product Highlights

“An outstanding Champagne and a discovery for me”
– Huon Hooke

One of the things we’re most proud of at The Wine Collective is our remarkable range of exclusive Champagne imports, often hidden gems in a market dominated by big-name brands.

In a world saturated with marketing-heavy Champagne houses, it’s often the smaller, independent producers that offer the purest expression of the region. Without the colossal marketing budgets or flashy celebrity endorsements, these grower houses and small négociants provide unbeatable value and truly exquisite, ethereal bubbles.

Today, we’re excited to introduce a new Champagne luminary that you simply must discover. Based in Damery, a charming village near Épernay in the Marne region, the Haton family has been practising sustainable, traditional farming methods for four generations. Classified as Récoltant Manipulant (grower Champagne), the Hatons have earned their place among the finest producers in Champagne, with many experts ranking them in their ‘best of’ and ‘top 10’ lists.

Exclusive to The Wine Collective, their Grand Cru 'Intense' Extra Brut is aged for over six years on lees, resulting in incredible depth and complexity. Awarded 97 points by Huon Hooke, who praised its rich, nutty bouquet and voluminous flavour, this NV cuvée has consistently garnered high scores and accolades over the years.

If you’re in the market for a luxurious Grand Cru Champagne at an exceptional price, this is your chance.

oh my

"Except for Huon Hooke's pronouncement, the reviews for this Champagne are less than flattering at its price point. Normally I don't agree with HH and in particular not after a nearly identical situation where a NV Champagne wowed him hugely and left me bemused. This? HH could not be more correct."
