A soft and citrusy experience with light, fine talc-mineral notes, some alpine herb characters, a touch of nougat and honeysuckle florals with dashes of lavender, too. Quite a bit of volume and texture, almost a richness, but hauled back in the bee-sting-like finish of wild honey and piquant, pithy, bitter herbal things. Complex, layered, wildly delicious and so interesting.

Powerhouse semillon but, in saying that, it’s not overdone. It’s neat. It tastes of citrus and tonic water, honey and lime leaf and from start to finish it absolutely lays down the law. Smoky oak plays a role, as do fennel and thistle-like characters. It finishes long and is a masterclass from start to finish.
