This is straightforward and direct but it still manages to assert its quality pretty clearly. Amazing that you can get a wine like this, routinely, for under $30. It tastes of fresh lemon and lime with talc, preserved lemon and tonic characters as part of its shtick. It feels both piercing and gentle; which is something. No hesitation on this. It’s very good.

The 2025 The Lodge Hill Riesling is fleshier and more concentrated than the Watervale Riesling tasted alongside, and it is here that we start to see the pedigree of this site rise to the fore, situated at 480 meters in elevation. 11% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Mike Bennie - Halliday Wine Companion

Electric riesling! Zippy and zingy, juicy and bright. Lemon-lime Splice, a lick of bath salts, some juniper botanicals and a bit of ozone kicking in. It's an easy-to-like riesling, very Classic Clare in its way, lightweight, refreshing, pure and clean. Missing some X-factor perhaps, but delivers a straight-up rendering of the variety.
