A superb grenache gris, sourced from the Dominion vineyard next to the excellent Spinifex cellar door. Light straw with aromas of citrus and stone fruits, hints of soft spice, clotted cream, clover blossom, almond meal, crushed stone and daubs of curds and whey. A slide of poached pear joins the grapefruit and peach on the palate, which shows a slinky textural aspect and a bright mineral line. Savoury and focused on the finish.

White wine with presence. This is the goods. Stonefruits, fistfuls of woodsy spice, brine, lemon myrtle and chalk characters really do talk up a good game here. There’s a gentle, grippy, textural element as well and a general impression of “body”. 100% convincing. Buy.
