Gorgeously refined and expressed, the wine shows ripe apricot, rockmelon, subtle vanilla, hazelnut, and oatmeal notes on the nose. The palate delivers excellent weight and focus, wonderfully framed by a creamy texture and bright acidity, finishing in a splendidly harmonious and elegant manner.

A fleshy, richer style of chardonnay but well managed with spicy oak influence, some slate-like minerality and well-judged freshness. It opens with vanilla cream and cinnamon, shows off stewed pear and delivers some pulpy lime characters, dashes of cedar and a flourish of faint lemon thyme, too. A polished expression with inherent complexity and straight-up charm.

The barrel-fermented 2024 Chardonnay is focused and ripe, with a contrast between sweet white stone fruit and cool-climate freshness. Young and bright with nutty oak and a hint of flint, this shows a reductive note that adds complexity rather than detracting. A satisfying phenolic chew resides on the medium-length finish. This will drink well over the next five to eight years.

The 2024 Chardonnay is nutty and rich, with yellow peach, caramel, white chocolate, lemon curd and cheesecloth. The opulent custard/caramel notes on the mid-palate feel jarringly different than the phenolics, which have an astringency through the finish. This is a wine of several parts. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
