2024 Kooyong Beurrot Pinot Gris

From Kooyong's coastal-cool vineyards, this Pinot Gris is a masterclass in textural seduction. Not your typical flabby Gris - pear skin, quince, and raw honey swirl with a subtle grip of phenolic tension, while a saline flick (hello, ocean breezes) keeps it thrillingly alive.

Wild-fermented and aged on lees, it's rich yet racy - like biting into a just-ripe nectarine dusted with crushed almonds. Pair with scallops, roast pork, or a golden-hour cheese board. Proof that Gris can be grand.

Product Highlights

Forget fruit salad in a bottle. Kooyong’s 2024 Beurrot Pinot Gris is all about savoury complexity, where subtle spice, orchard fruit, and silky texture quietly steal the show.

Made by rising star Tim Perrin, mentored by Jim Chatto at McWilliam’s, winner of White Wine of the Year at Oakridge, AWRI dux, Len Evans Scholar, and when he took on the top role at Kooyong, we were more than excited to see what he was going to do with the incredible Mornington fruit!

Fermented wild in old French oak, then aged on lees, a restrained, food-friendly, and seriously drinkable number. The palate is full of crushed apple and pear threaded with honeysuckle and spice, flecked with hints of guava and kiwi. It’s not loud, but it does have impressive length.

From densely planted vines on Mornington Peninsula turf, Kooyong handles Pinot Gris like it’s their icon wine. And it shows.
