2024 Atlas Wines Section 32 Clare Valley Fiano 2024 (Best In Collective)

After tasting our way through 40 potential Best in Collective nominees, our tasting panel discovered a true bolt from the blue to be 2024's recipient of Spring Best In Collective. The 2024 Atlas Wines Section 32 Clare Valley Fiano came out on top in the blind tasting, wowing our judges with its unique flavours of citrus and white flowers, with fresh hints of honey, bees wax and green almonds.

Atlas Wines is the passion project of winemaker Adam Barton and Amy Lane. Nestled in South Australia, their story spans two key regions – the Clare Valley, where their vineyards thrive, and the Barossa Valley, home to their cutting-edge winery. Together, Adam and Amy have built a reputation for crafting a new wave of bright, aromatic white wines. Their talents haven’t gone unnoticed – they’ve scooped up awards along the way, including the prestigious title of James Halliday’s Best New Winery. With over six generations of family farming roots in the area, their commitment to sustainability and respect for the land runs deep. Every bottle they produce reflects the unique character of the region they proudly call home.

One of the standout varietals in their collection is Fiano, grown on the Atlas Estate Vineyard in the Leasingham sub-region of the Clare Valley. The Clare Valley’s dry climate – with warm days and crisp, cool nights – allows the grapes to ripen beautifully while retaining vibrant natural acidity. This balance shines through in every sip, showcasing the essence of this remarkable landscape. 

How does it taste?
Bursting with bergamot pear, lemon-lime citrus, beeswax, and a hint of almond.

Where is it from?
Originally from Southern Italy, this Fiano has now found a new home in the dry-grown, Mediterranean-like climate of the Clare Valley.

Crafted by Adam Barton and Amy Lane, previous finalists in the James Halliday Best New Winery.
