Good mainstream CO Pinot
"A lot better than the Mysterious Diggings this vintage, worth the extra money, more structure and complexity. Lovely."
Terra Sancta’s Estate Pinot Noir is the clearest snapshot of their Bannockburn vineyards. Drawn from the same vines that produce the estate’s prized single block wines, it brings together fruit from across the property, with the oldest vines setting the tone.
The 2023 vintage leans into freshness and detail. Early picking preserves natural acidity, while wild fermentation and careful oak handling allow the site to speak without distraction. Ten months in a mix of barrique and large format oak adds texture rather than flavour, keeping the focus firmly on fruit, structure and place.
In the glass, it sits squarely in the Central Otago wheelhouse. Red berries, plum and spice are backed by a savoury, mineral edge that reflects the Felton Road side of Bannockburn. The palate has weight and shape, with tannins that gently grip and carry the wine through a long, composed finish.
