Careful – swoon and you’ll miss this wine, but swoon you most likely will. A sexy hint of reduction leads to rosella, strawberry gum and wild raspberries. Musk strawberries, fresh bay leaf and grated nutmeg. Queen Garnet plums, pepperberry and white pepper. Tannins are sandy but chiselled, and subtle oak influence adds the staying power for this wine to age gracefully. A wine of real pedigree.

This is very good. It’s ripe and varietal but it’s the complexity, served effortless, that elevates it. It’s cherried, strawberried, lightly smoked, redolent of roasted spices and dry concrete, sprinkled with herbs and whispered with mace. You’d be very happy with this as you were tasting around the barrels; it feels super fresh and super good. It’s best days are ahead of it.
