Comes from some of the oldest cabernet vines in Wilyabrup. You talk about elegance and refinement; well, here it is in spades. Lifted floral perfumes on the nose with distinctive red berry and light tobacco leaf. Just a little of that minerally oyster shell character. The palate is sublime. Tannins are silky and fine, the oak brilliantly understated, and the fruit impeccable. A super classy wine.

Gary Walsh - The Wine Front

A very good vintage for Margaret River, at risk of repeating myself. Blueberry, blackberry, aniseed and baking spice, tobacco and bay leaf. It’s medium-bodied, has some crunch to it via quite lively acidity, a bit of grain and grip to tannin, feels maybe a little edgy and less settled than is ideal for me, but does have some mojo and a finish of good length with a cocoa and red fruited aftertaste. Give it a year or two to settle, I think.

An excellent dark garnet hue; fragrant, as you’d expect, with florals, warm spices, tobacco and bay leaves, loads of cassis and barely ripe blackcurrants. Acidity seems to be driving this, although tannins certainly back up the seemingly leaner palate. This needs food and a decent decant to see it at its best.
