A bouquet of ripe red fruits of cherry, blackberry and plums, integrated with layers of oak delivering spice, dark chocolate and subtle vanilla. The rich palate has concentrated blackberry, plum, and cassis combining with dark chocolate, espresso, and oak-derived vanillin.

The milder season in McLaren Vale has certainly dictated the style of this wine. It's a lovely fruity expression of McLaren Vale shiraz, with loads of blackberry and plummy richness evident, initially on the nose, but then into the palate, which adds an additional dollop of dark chocolate and vanilla essence. There's a dry roasted coffee extraction evident on the palate, which just adds that final definition to complete an excellent wine

Inky dark maroon in colour, the nose reveals a delightful roast meats, charcuterie character, which is supported by aromas of warm earth, black fruits, dried herbs, beefstock, ripe red cherries and tobacco leaves. Juicy flavours abound here and there is excellent length through to satiny tannins. The wine is very well balanced and there really is lots to love. Enjoy it over the next eight to twelve years
