From biodynamically (certified) grown vines. This switches things up for the general character of Clare Valley cabernet wines, lighter, brighter, frisky almost, lots of greenery and peppery spice, almost minty elements in dark chocolate, cassis, boysenberry characters to taste. There's a crispness to the wine, bright and lively, the herbaceous notes leading the way but not totally defining the wine. Fine, light tannins hold court. The perfume matches the flavours, a big fog of freshness, herbal detail and almost a sense of 'purple' if synesthesia is your thing. All up, a wine of vigour and good energy, though you'll be wanting cabernet on the more vibrant side overall.

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is light and minty in the mouth, with cassis and bramble, chalk and dried mint, strawberry and raspberry laced through the finish. Tobacco and freshly dug earth define the edges of the tannins, making for elegant but altogether quiet drinking here. This is a lovely wine. Soft. 14.2% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

This is a pure, clean, elongated cabernet, fruity both on the attack and through the centre but then crisp and autumnal to close. Blackcurrant, redcurrant, peppercorn and tobacco/herb notes run amiably throughout, the body medium in weight at most, but the finish sustained.

Angus Hughson - Vinous

The 2022 Cabernet Sauvignon is cerebral and whispers rather than shouts with charming and subtle aromas of gravel and cedar, with fleshy blackcurrant and oak sitting in the back seat. There is excellent tension to this, with firm acidity before a green streak tightens up the finish.
