The Denton Chardonnay 2022 from Yarra Valley is a true expression of the terroir in which it was grown. This vintage was produced in the year 2022, showcasing the exceptional quality of the Denton Viewhill Vineyard in Victoria. On the nose, this Chardonnay offers enticing aromas of ripe peach, golden apple, and a hint of vanilla. The palate is rich and full-bodied, with flavours of citrus and tropical fruits balanced by a subtle oak influence. The vibrant acidity and delicate minerality add layers of complexity to this wine, leading to a satisfyingly long finish. The colour is a pale straw with hints of green, reflecting the cool climate in which the grapes were grown. Overall, the Denton Chardonnay 2022 is a beautifully crafted wine that is sure to please any Chardonnay lover.

An excellent year that required hard work in the vineyard to control disease pressure and canopy growth but the hard work paid off. A classic Yarra Valley growing season with a long and mild Summer with regular rainfall at the right time. Yields were lower, but concentration and flavours were high.

This wine is constantly evolving - Wet rocks, white flowers, white fleshy stone fruits with a slight savoury grapefruit tang. Long and intricately detailed with hints of flint and nougat... Perhaps a little wild, but that’s how we like it. 

Bernard 95 clone (with a tiny portion of 96) chardonnay from the top of the northeast-facing slope of Block 6. B95 clone’s natural finesse and fine acidity are perfectly complimented/amplified by our granitic soils.

Winemaking
Whole bunch pressed directly to old (bordering on ancient) French oak puncheons.  Wild ferment. Lees stirring here and there to build texture and weight. 100% Malolactic fermentation, minimal sulphur additions. Bottled without fining or filtration
