Philip Rich - Halliday Wine Companion
Made with approximately 20% whole bunch including a portion of carbonic maceration and matured in French hogsheads and puncheons (10% new). A medium-bodied, fragrant and elegant wine that opens up with red and black fruits, floral notes, pink peppercorns and blood orange. On the palate, this has real grip, intensity and persistence, and this will totally reward those who still have some in their cellar a decade from now.
Savory and earth-driven. with notes of Damson plums, graphite, blackcurrants and spices. The palate is medium- to full-bodied with focused acidity and finely integrated tannins, giving notes of wild blackberries, wet earth, cured meat and dried herbs. Wonderfully balanced and giving.

Aaron Brasher - The Real Review
95 points. Lifted aromas of blueberry, Campari, clovey oak, bramble, dried flowers and a bunchy edge. Mid-weight, bright and crunchy on the palate: there’s lovely lift and brightness here. Lashings of blue fruits, Asian spice, sarsaparilla and snappy acidity. Long and textured—a delicious example of cooler climate shiraz. Aaron Brasher, realreview.com.

Campbell Mattinson - The Wine Front
There’s depth to this release but there’s also finesse. It’s toasty and meaty and truffle-like, but there’s deep, black-cherried fruit here too, and stem/mescal notes, and a cedarwood oak-derived influence. Those toasty, truffle-like characters are front and centre though, and they continue even as the wine hones to a fine-grained finish. There’s enough tightness here to suggest that it will mature well, though even at this early stage it drinks well, and in a complex way.

Rosamund Hall - Decanter
A world away from bruising Shiraz, this is an expressive Syrah with notes of redcurrants, just ripe blackcurrants, brooding black cherries and hints of briney marinated black olives delivered with smooth, silken tannins. The generosity of fruit keeps evolving in the glass. I’d love to serve this with a slow roasted lamb and a pomegranate studded salad.

Erin Larkin - Robert Parker Wine Advocate
The 2022 Shiraz Geelong leads with distinctive game and cocoa, meat crust and peppercorns. In the mouth, the wine is silky and fine and so reminiscent of the bouquet. The finish is laden with cocoa powder and dried mint, clove and tarragon. Lovely wine, it is precisely distinctive of Bannockburn. 13.5% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.

Angus Hughson - Vinous
The 2022 Shiraz offers a juicy yet subtle upfront mix of mulberry and dried herbs, lifted by stocky and charcuterie complexity. It shows good structure and balance in a midweight style, with a long, fine and sustained finish. Well set to enjoy over the medium term.
