Every bit as good as the review
"Reviews can sometimes be over the top but this grenache was excellent and true to the hype. Depth of flavour, rich and smooth this was a very satisfying drop and excellent value for money."
Come for the wine. Take home the trophy cabinet.
This McLaren Vale Grenache has picked up a serious stack of awards. Not bad for a bottle that usually sits well above this price.
Trophy - Women’s Wine & Spirit Awards
Trophy - International Wine Challenge
Double Gold - International Wine Challenge
Gold - IWC London
Gold - Japan Women’s Wine Awards
Plenty of hardware for one bottle. And more importantly - plenty of flavour.
The fruit comes from classic old bush vines in McLaren Vale. It’s the sort of fruit that gives Grenache its charm - bright, generous and full of life. The winemaking is in safe hands too, from someone who knows their way around award-winning Grenache.
In the glass you’ll find sweet cherry and juicy pomegranate, with a little spice running through it. The texture is plush and smooth, the way good McLaren Vale Grenache should be. Easy to like. Easy to finish.
It’s the sort of bottle that works when friends drop by, a pizza lands on the table, or you just want something reliably good. Normally this wine sits around $22.50. Even there it represents good value.
But the label is hidden. The brand protected. Which means the price can come down. You’ll know the name when you see it. And the winemaker too - a recent Bushing Monarch who knows McLaren Vale better than most.
If you enjoy Grenache that shows the bright, generous side of the region, this is one worth keeping on hand.

"I think this was $15. Absolutely superb. Lush red berries, a hint of oak, and smooth on the palate. I hope this comes back."
