Winemakers Notes
Château Montrose, the revelation of a unique terroir
Martin and Olivier Bouygues acquired Château Montrose in 2006. Under their impetus, Montrose entered the 21st century with a spectacular renovation which combine with harmony cutting-edge environmental and winemaking technology and architectural beauty.
As intermediaries, Martin and Olivier Bouygues aim to further enhance this unique terroir, made of more thant 90ha in a single block, ideally located on the banks of the Gironde estuary.
Under the direction of Melissa Bouygues and managed by Hervé Berland, the estate benefits from a combination of youth and experience in a multi-generational team in which vinegrowers and winemakers rub shoulders with technical specialists and academic experts.
2021, a Great Terroir vintage
Hervé Berland tells you about 2021 vintage: https://bit.ly/Montrose2021
Marked by contrasting weather conditions, 2021 is proof, yet again, of the importance of the quality of Montrose terroir and its incredible ability to mitigate the excesses of "Mother Nature".
This vintage required all the experience, energy and vigilance of the estate's teams. Despite the weather conditions, all four grape varieties have been included in the Grand Vin, and that is always the hallmark of a successful vintage at Château Montrose.
The 2021 vintage displays freshness and fine tannins. This is one of the estate's classic wine and will, without a doubt, be ranked among the great successes of the vintage.
