Fruit is concentrated and youthful on the palate with fresh-picked black cherry and plum skin. There is a swathe of lively acidity and fine-grained tannins. Tobacco pouch, cedar and pencil lead. Excellent drinking but will age gracefully for another decade.

Wonderfully rich and enticing, the wine shows cassis, vanilla, roasted hazelnut, cigar and mixed spice aromas on the nose. The palate delivers excellent weight and fleshy texture, splendidly complemented by refined mouthfeel and chalky tannins. It's robust and sturdy with a persistent structured finish. At its best: now to 2035.

A stylish expression of Coonawarra.
