Bright straw‑gold hue and aromas of white peach, rock melon and citrus zest, layered over subtle vanilla toast and cashew‑nut oak influence. On the palate it combines smooth mid‑palate richness with lively acidity, offering nectarine and mango flavours framed by a fine oak texture and a clean, gently lingering finish.

This is Geoff Merrill’s Barrel Select Chardonnay – it’s big, it’s rich, and pretty much invented the old-school style. 

It’s no secret Geoff Merrill’s a Halliday 5-Star winery, and the Barrel Select has to be one of the crown jewels of the entire range. You could even say it tastes every bit as good as his famous Reserve Chardonnay (wink wink, nudge nudge).

The 2020 release blends McLaren Vale’s plush, fruit-laden generosity with Coonawarra’s freshness and lift, creating a Chardonnay that’s greater than the sum of its parts.

Golden stone fruit, toasty oak, and that creamy, buttery richness bringing it all together – a reminder of why we fell in love with Aussie Chardonnay in the first place.

The value? It's less than a takeaway pizza for a proper, full-throttle Chardonnay from one of Australia’s greats.
