Made with grapes hailing from one of the highest vineyard sites in Barbaresco, Pio Cesare’s ‘Il Bricco’ famously takes a while to come round but it does, it is something special. This 2019 expression is characteristically pale in colour with an elegant, nuanced nose of rose petal, violet and truffle and the palate shows substantial, yet soft tannins and a focused acidity. A classic, quietly powerful Nebbiolo that while still young is already drinking nicely.
