The 2019 Barbaresco Riserva Ronchi is a powerful, dark wine. Black cherry, plum, leather, gravel and incense bring out the darker side of Nebbiolo. Sage, menthol and pine are some of the nuances that linger on the potent close. Firm, muscular tannins suggest a few years in bottle are warranted.

The nose of this Barbaresco lifts out of the glass as if a fully ripe bouquet of flowers just walked by. Head turning the aromas continue with wild raspberry, clove, and thyme. The palate is pretty. Its purity of red fruit, wild flowers and subtle earth notes all converge on the finish in a well constructed wine that will last for years to come.
