"The Grandview Estate 2018 Shiraz is a wine that offers a nice full bodied dark fruit flavour with soft tannins. Good Value"
This wine was originally made for export.
Lined up for Europe, then pulled at the last minute. When shipments like this get cancelled, the wine doesn’t get reworked or quietly stored away. It’s released locally and that’s usually the end of it.
That’s what happened here.
Made by Trifon Estate in Central Victoria, this is cool-climate Shiraz with real presence. Not light. Not skinny. There’s depth, drive and plenty of flavour.
It’s rich and lush, with the benefit of proper bottle age. Now beautifully settled, but still full of life. Drinking well today, with enough structure to reward further cellaring if you’re inclined.
And it’s been recognised on the show circuit too, taking home multiple gold medals, including:
Double Gold - China Wine & Spirits Awards
Gold - Asia Wine Trophy
Gold - Melbourne International Wine Competition
A polished, mature Shiraz with pedigree, balance and character. Limited in volume and not widely available.
If you enjoy your Shiraz with age, detail and confidence, this one is well worth a look.
