Tasting Notes

The 2017 Moonambel Shiraz is eminently balanced and refined on the nose, with blood, minerals and flowers in equal measure. This is super composed, balanced and, as far as wine drinking pleasure goes, a triumph. There are notes of cardamom pod, sandalwood, scraped vanilla pod, pomegranate molasses, crushed rocks and kicked earth, and the layers of flavor are defined by very fine, ductile, tannic texture and support. Super

Product Highlights

We can’t name this legendary Pyrenees producer. But what you can expect is:

A wine from an iconic estate with over 40 vintages under their belt.
Single vineyard, estate-grown fruit.

A cult following built on wines that are rich, structured, and built to age.

This Shiraz was originally full of violets, blood plum, and baking spice. Dark fruit, mocha, smoky oak.

Now, you’re starting to see that fruit shift deeper. More savoury edges coming through.

The structure softening into something a bit more layered, full of smoky tobacco, dried plum, and lavender.

It's hard to believe such an iconic wine is still available, and at this price. Be warned, you'll be slapping yourself on the thigh acknowledging a job well done when this bottle gets cracked open.
