Very light colour and a youthful, restrained floral aroma. The wine is delicate, taut and dry, with a touch of austerity and lots of restraint. There are dried flower characters galore, the palate fresh and clean, bright and frisky with good acidity and loads of energy. Long finish. Excellent wine. Cellar for best results.

These 2016 Clare Valley Rieslings, as I like to keep saying, are very very good. Has a bit of fenugreek funk about it as a young wine, but under that it’s a thing of beauty and purity. Lime and lemon, the real river pebbles/slate/whatever-you-want-to-call-it thing you get in top Clare Valley Riesling is here aplenty. A little fennel and floral perfume, cool acidity, and immaculate length. Top shelf. .

Mike Bennie - Halliday's Wine Companion

A mature release. Soft and supple riesling, albeit with a core of very limey acidity enlivening the gentle, attractive decay. Honey toast, lemon butter, brown lime and dried apple scents and flavours aplenty, with a rollicking swish of briny acidity uplifting. Indeed, you can see the maturity and revel in the complexity, but also find yourself perked up with each sip, the inherent acid profile bringing joy and life. It's in a great place. Best drunk now-ish but can be held longer, too.

This shows lots of yellow apples and dried pineapple drops on the nose as well as hints of white pepper. The nose is closed at first, but the palate is very vibrant and delicious, showing a full body, beautiful acidity and real complexity on the finish. Needs to be left to open up a bit. Drink now.
