Eldredge Vineyards Cellar Door opened in December 1994 after 12 months of renovating an 80 year old stone cottage in the Sevenhill Ranges.

Situated on the Spring Gully scenic drive route, Eldredge Wines has become one of the best kept secrets of the Clare Valley, due to not only it’s unique location but also our National and International award winning wines.

Located directly west of Sevenhill, Eldredge Wines are on the boundary of the Clare Valley at 440 metres above sea level overlooking the Blyth Plains. The vineyard rises to 530 metres at its highest point. It is an excellent tourist destination and vineyard site which produces high quality Shiraz, Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, Merlot, Malbec and Riesling.

Eldredge wines are produced from 100% Clare Valley fruit, the focus being to create affordable wines of premium, high quality that reflect not only our character, but also that of the wonderfully unique Clare Valley.

News and Milestones

2018 saw the inaugural release of our ‘Blue Chip’ Riesling. Much to Winemaker, Leigh Eldredge’s delight, we scored a Gold Medal at the 2018 Canberra International Riesling Challenge – this confirms Leigh’s reputation as a master in the art of making Riesling!

Our 2017 ‘Spring Gully’ Riesling was also a wine achieving Gold at the 2017 Canberra International Riesling Challenge and at the China Wine & Spirits Awards, Silver at the Melbourne International Wine Competition, Bronze at the 2018 Cairns Wine Show and 4.5 stars with Winestate Magazine.

In the upcoming April 2019 edition of Winestate Magazine, we have been awarded the title of ‘Best Value Wine – $20 and Under’for our 2018 ‘Spring Gully’ Riesling and 2018 ‘Kitty’ Sangiovese Rose.

Our consistent performer and everyone’s favourite, the ‘Blue Chip’ Shiraz, saw the 2016 vintage take home a Gold Medal at the Melbourne International Wine Competition and the 2015 vintage awarded Double Gold at the China Wine & Spirits Awards.

The Reserve Malbec 2014 also won Gold at the 2018 China Wine & Spirits Awards. Our Reserve Malbec has scored extremely well over the year, taking out awards at the Malbec International Competition held in France and took out Wine of the Show at the 2012 Clare Valley Wine Show.

Some of our award highlights over the years have been in Decanter Magazine (UK), the Eldredge 2009 Blue Chip Shiraz was voted the in the Top 10 Australian wines from a huge field and in 2004, the Eldredge Blue Chip Shiraz was chosen from among 500 entries by leading wine writer and Chief Wine Tasting panelist for Qantas Airlines, Len Evans, and the Shiraz was proudly served on all Qantas International Business Class flights.
