Bream creek is situated on the stunning South Eastern coastline of Tasmania overlooking Marion Bay and Maria Island. It was established in 1973 by a wine consortium and named after the district where it is located. In 1990, viticulturist extraordinaire and legend, Fred Peacock, purchased the property and set about extending the plantings, especially Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc, from 5 hectares to 7.5 hectares. Today, this family-owned property focuses on producing small parcels of fruit to create archetypal cool-climate wines. Winemaker Julian Alcorso uses traditional methods, and some wild ferments, to make table and sparkling wines crafted from Riesling, Gewurztraminer, Sauvignon Blanc, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Cabernet Sauvignon. The wines speak of their ‘Tasmanian-ism’ through crisp, delicate Rieslings, tropical, floral Sauvignon Blancs and velvety, spiced berry Pinot Noirs.
