Like so many of the chardonnays in this warm year, it was picked quite early to retain its natural vibrancy. It was whole bunch pressed to new and one-year-old French oak, and the balance with the fruit is absolutely spot on. Aromas of melon, lemon rind, and light smoky cashew. The palate has a lively energy with an intense minerally fruit character supported with fine chalky acidity and some superfine oak. An excellent wine.

Mike Bennie - Halliday Wine Companion

A potent chardonnay with distinct oak inflection in sandalwood, flinty mineral whiffs, cedar and smoky spice over nectarine and apricot fruit characters. It's quite soft, though a little grip does help shape things nicely. An old-school style, done well.
