The 2025 Gorgeous Grenache is aromatic and bright in the glass, leading with strawberries and raspberry (there's a raspberry-fried, musk stick note here), with a hint of exotic spice alongside. Seventy percent of the blend is old-vine Riverland fruit (post-Second World War plantings), with some old-vine McLaren Vale—a higher proportion than normal this year. Tannins are juicy and super soft, which suits the wine's light, fresh style. Though not hugely complex, it is really well put together and, most importantly, delicious. All ferment parcels are wild. The Riverland portion is a combination of traditional crushed and 100% whole bunch, which is then blended back into the McLaren Vale components—30% to 50% whole bunch. In the end, with all components blended, the whole-bunch proportion sits at around 30%. This gives some complexity and interest. It's nicely done. 14% alcohol, sealed under screw cap.
