Mura Mura is a new estate founded by Grom ice cream co-founder and trained oenologist Guido Martinetti. While located in the region of Asti, the estate also boasts some choice vineyards in the Langhe, including 1ha in the Sorano MGA. The second release, 2021 opens with scents of vanilla, nutmeg and alpine herbs. Built around dark berries, the palate is tight-lipped and firm. Neither too weighty nor over-concentrated, it does become richer and fleshier as it sits in the glass. Floral and spice notes lurk and a distinct mintiness come to the fore. Not the most profound but shows a deft balance of fruit and structure.
