Benjamin Leroux Grand Cru Bâtard Montrachet 2024

95 POINTS

Charles Curtis MW - Decanter

Concentrated and powerful, the 2024 Bâtard from Benjamin Leroux is true to the appellation's traditional style, with a robust tarte tatin fruit aroma and hints of verbena, bergamot and spice. The richness of the palate is counterbalanced by a lively, lemony freshness that helps the wine linger seemingly forever. This is a superb wine; the only downfall is that there isn't much available – save for a single mathusalem, the entire production from the 0.16ha of vines on the Chassagne side will be bottled in magnum.

Neal Martin - Vinous

The 2024 Bâtard-Montrachet Grand Cru has a very intense bouquet, crushed stone infusing the malic aromas, just a hint of popcorn in the background. The palate is very well balanced with a fine bead of acidity, elegant in style, perhaps not quite as complex as the Corton Grandes Lolières but there is fine persistency. Points: 91-93
