Tasting Notes

It was whole bunch pressed to new and one-year-old French oak, and the balance with the fruit is absolutely spot on. Aromas of melon, lemon rind, and light smoky cashew. The palate has a lively energy with an intense minerally fruit character supported with fine chalky acidity and some superfine oak.

Product Highlights

This is a premier W.A. 5-Star Halliday winery, the kind that routinely sweeps regional wine shows and regularly takes home 'Excellence in Winemaking' and 'Most Successful Exhibitor' awards. And they do it the hard way: everything by hand. Hand-picked, hand-crushed, hand-fermented, hand-packed.

That care shows in the glass. This 2025 Chardonnay from Geographe, Western Australia is grown on highly prized ancient Marri soils, shaped by a long, consistent dry and sunny ripening season, and crafted by a multi award-winning winemaker. Year after year, pound for pound, it's one of the greatest-value Chardonnays we sell.

Erin Larkin of US publication Robert Parker's Wine Advocate tasted it and gave it the ultimate praise: "And here, we see everything that is good about Chardonnay… This is an excellent wine."

And it's easy to see why. In the glass, it's a bold, full-flavoured powerhouse: vibrant nectarine, crisp apple, and juicy peach overtones, laced with striking regional minerality and pristine fruit, all wrapped in superfine, seamlessly integrated oak. It's all in absolute, perfect balance, and the intensity of fruit flavours lingers long after you've put the glass down.

A 95-point Wine Advocate score, at a Mystery price. Not a bad drop to have up your sleeve.
