2013 Château d’Yquem 1er Supérieur G.C.C 1855 1500ml

A vintage marked by an unusually strong contrast between an abnormally cool, wet May and June and a near record-breaking hot, dry July and August. A cooler early September maintained aromatic freshness, with 50mm of rain triggering the onset of noble rot on perfectly ripe fruit; picking proceeded across four passes between 25 September and late October as weather alternated between rain-driven botrytis development and dry spells for concentration. Alcohol is 13.1%, residual sugar 140 g/L.
